THREE-DIMENSIONAL BUILDING MODELING

In 2005, S. A. Miro, Inc. and Precision CAD and Graphics (PCAD) made the commitment to purchase seats and train on both REVIT_TM and ADT_TM 3-Dimensional Modeling Software. Miro staff are also evaluating TEKLA Structures _TM, a structural BIM package that is compatible with ArchiCAD_TM.

These purchases were the latest milestone in a long-term commitment by Miro / PCAD to be at the forefront of 3-D modeling as a key tool for modern structural engineering. From the concept and schematic phases of a project, 3-D models help to convey design concepts and conditions that are difficult to visualize from conventional, two-dimensional drawings.

	For the past several years, Miro and PCAD have created 3-D models in AutoCAD that are exportable into *NavisWorks* _TM, a standard platform used to run collision and conflict checks with mechanical / electrical / plumbing and other systems.
Our most recent fully-modeled building is the *REMAX Corporate Headquarters*, a 230,000 square foot, 14-story office building currently under construction in the Denver Tech Center. The Miro team has begun modeling the Union Center Hotel, a 13-story hotel in the Central Platte Valley as a REVIT demonstration project.
